HPG issues new statement about the train attack, Turkish judge issues media censor
NEWSDESK, Jun 3 (DozaMe.org) - “This scandal has exposed Turkey’s secret and dirty dealings with Iran,” HPG said in a statement on its attack against the Turkish cargo train transporting Iranian arms through Turkey to Syria. “To hide these dealings, Turkey has resorted to a variety of conspiracy theories accusing our movement of cooperating with ‘external powers’.”
HPG said that they were aware of all enemy movements in Kurdistan. “This attack was carried out by our own forces with the help of our own intelligence sources,” the statement said.
Turkish newspapers were accusing the PKK for acting as proxy for US and Israeli intelligence agencies to stop weapon shipments to the Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon.
“It’s ironic to see how far Turkish officials can take their claims, they who for 30 years have been working with the US to destroy the Kurdish people,” an HPG official said.
A unit from People’s Defense Forces (HPG) derailed a Turkish cargo train bound to Syria on May 25 near the Suvaran train station in the Genc district of Bingol in northern Kurdistan (southeastern Turkey.) Local authorities discovered rockets, launch pads, sniper rifles, mortar rounds and other ammunitions in the train.
A Turkish prosecutor in Genc has requested a media censor on all news related to the weapons in the cargo, pointing to paragraph 28 in the Turkish Constitution, paragraphs 3 and 25 in the Turkish Media Laws and paragraphs 285 and 286 in the Turkish Penal Code, according to the Turkish newspaper Milliyet. The prosecutor’s request was accepted by the Genc Criminal Court.
