Armenia beats Poland 1-0 in Euro 2008 qualifying

YEREVAN, Armenia: Armenia upset Poland 1-0 Wednesday in a European Championship qualifying match, with Hamlet Mkhitaryan scoring the winning goal.
Mkhitaryan scored from a free kick in the 66th minute, curling the ball over the wall and into the top right corner of the net.
Poland dominated the game and outshot the hosts 5-0 in the first half.
Armenia goalkeeper Gevorg Kasparov blocked Marek Saganowski's shots in the 26th and 28th minutes and stopped Marcin Wasilewski's free kick a minute later.
Arman Karamyan nearly made it 2-0 on a solo effort down the right flank in the 45th. Poland goalkeeper Artur Boruc failed to block his shot and defender Grzegorz Bronowicki clear the ball from the line.
