Aronian beats Bacrot, through to the finals of the World Chess Cup

Levon Aronian outwitted Etienne Bacrot in the second semifinal game to book his berth for the final while Ruslan Ponomariov and Alexander Grischuk drew their second successive game to stretch the contest to tie-breaker in the ongoing World Chess Cup here.
With the win in the second game, Aronian edged out Bacrot 1.5-.5 after their first game had saw te players splitting point.
Meanwhile, Ponomariov could not get the better of Russian Grandmaster Grischuk and had to be satisfied with the second successive draw.
He will have to overcame the tough Russian in the tie-breaks to join Aronian in the finals.
The Aronian-Bacrot tie was an ordinary game but the ending made it one of the most dramatic encounters of the entire tournament in which Bacrot resigned from a position from where he could have earned a draw and he thus allowed Aronian to advance to the finals.
