The current state of Armenian-Turkish relations is hidden in the fact that Turkey proposes preconditions,'' NA deputy and chairman of committee Armen Rustamyan told a parliamentary hearing today. Rustamyan described that as a ''non-civilized approach.'' He said the preconditions put forward by Turkey are not legal and have underlying aim. By requiring the denial of the genocide, Turkey wants to have Armenia as partner in stopping the rising process of genocide recognition, he said.
Rustamian believes the ideology of Pan Turkism stays as the base of Turkish policy that ''lives a new revival.'' He said the breath of Pan Turkism is more and more felt in the multifactor policy of Turkey.
Speaking about Turkey's requirement to withdraw the Armenian forces from the zone of Karabakh conflict, he said it is not accepted in the modern world that a third country conditions the relations between two countries. Rustamyan said that this requirement makes Turkey an unofficial party of the conflict.
