Baku, 2 February 2006 (Regnum - website) - On January 31, speaking at a session of the Cabinet of Ministers, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev accused opposition in patricide. The ground for this accusation is opposition’s addresses to the Council of Europe with request not to recognize the mandate of Azerbaijan delegation, informs a REGNUM correspondent.

“They sent 200 denunciations to Strasbourg before PACE discussion of the Nagorno Karabakh question, so that the Azerbaijani delegation could not secure our interests,” said Aliyev.

The president stated that this all favors to Armenia and its lobby, that uses corrupt politicians that deal with the Armenian Special Services, receive money from them and call themselves “opposition”. He assured that the Azerbaijani people will never betray its interests. “Nagorno Karabakh is Azerbaijani territory, so the occupied territories must be returned, refugees be admitted to their territory, and all negotiations must include these issues,” stated the president.
