Foreign investment in Armenia up 29% in 9 mths

YEREVAN. Dec 2 (Interfax) - Foreign investment in the Armenian economy in January-September 2005 increased 28.7% year-on-year to $225.7 million, a source in the National Statistics Service told Interfax.

The leader in terms of investment in Armenia in the first nine months was Greece - $68 million (up 11.6% year-on-year). Russian investment in the reporting period increased 29.3% year-on-year to $36.2 million, Germany - $29.2 million (up 400%), U.S. - $16.7 million (down 14.1%) and France - $14.1 million (down 38.8%). rd
