Lehman College Community Band's commemoration of the anniversary of 9/11
The Lehman College Community Band will commemorate the anniversary of 9/11 with a special outdoor concert, entitled “Honoring America’s Heroes,” on Sun., Sept. 11, at 4 pm, in the Lehman College Amphitheatre. The event is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Professor Alan Hollander, the band will perform two pieces written specifically as tributes to those who perished on September 11, as well as a selection of patriotic music for symphonic wind band. Trumpeter William Owens will perform The Artunian, a trumpet concerto written to commemorate the 1915 genocide in Armenia.
Lehman is located at Goulden Avenue and Bedford Park Boulevard. Free attended parking is also available. In case of inclement weather, the concert will move indoors to the Lovinger Theatre. For more information call (718) 960-8247.
