Armenia in finals of the European Football Championship

Surprising all the favorites in its preliminary group like Italy, Belgium and Hungry, Armenia’s national football under 19-years-old team reached the final stage of the European championship. Armenia’s young disciplined team won its last game against local team of Hungry with 5-1. New AFC Ajax striker Edgar Manoucharian scoring 4 goals ! The final stage of the European championship under 19 will be held in Northern Ireland in July. When rendering a press conference together with 18-year old Edgar Manucharyan, who scored four goals, FFA President Ruben Hayrapetyan said that after this victory the team is charged with the task to win the title of the Champion of Europe. “We all witnessed that our team is strong enough and the guys are able to solve serious problems. This is the very team of future I was speaking about”.

Edgar himself said that the most difficult match was the one with the Belgian team, since it was to decide whether Armenia will pass to the finals. “We played a really good game with Belgium. The first minutes with the Hungarian team were also hard but after the first goal everything went well”
