«The Armenians of Javakhq have to join to fight together against the modern challenges for the sake of the security of Javakhq and all the Armenians. We have to realize that what we lose today we can never recover tomorrow», said member of the “United Javakhq” Presidium Vahagn Chakhalyan in an interview to “Javakhq-Info”. He mentioned that the political powers of Javakh have to cooperate regardless of their personal interests.

According to him, the construction of the railway Kars-Akhalqalaq will cost too dear, and it will be hard to provide security. Besides, there are many questions in the realization of the project.

“According to a number of Georgian experts, the ports of Poti and Batumi will suffer economically. Besides, there is serious danger of Turkish hordes entering the region alongside with the construction of the railway”.

«Alongside with this, there are two more important factors. First, the number of Azeri minorities has increased in Georgia, and second, between Azerbaijan and Turkey only Javakhq is populated by non-Turkish people. In this context, the idea that the construction of the railway is a challenge for the national security of Georgia is not at all sentimental», said Chakhalyan adding that he agrees with Georgian expert Giya Khukhashvili. According to the latter, Georgia signed a capitulation agreement.
